Romans Kiama Run 2025

Now that the 10th Kiama Rod Run has been held, the Romans HRA would like to thanks all the people who came to Kiama and supported our event.

The weather was perfect for the weekend and the Show and Shine on Sunday, along the waterfront at Black Beach Reserve, provided the perfect setting for the event.

The Observation Run on Saturday from Kiama Lighthouse was a bit of fun for those choosing to do it, finishing at Berry for a Coffee and Cake stop before heading for lunch at Gerroa Fisherman’s Club. The three winners of the Observation Run were presented $50 Petrol Vouchers at the lunch.

The Saturday evening Sausage Sizzle at Kendal’s Caravan Park was very popular and, despite having a ‘Seniors moment’ and leaving his questions back in his Cabin, Ernie Bell’s Trivia Questions got the brains trust scratching their heads with the winners receiving a multitude of prizes. The Romans Raffle also gave numerous prizes to the lucky ticket holders.

There were 225 Hot Rods and Customs at Sundays Show and Shine with some great cars on display, a variety of food and drink stalls along with model cars for sale by ‘Prized Pieces’ and Insurance advice from ‘Shannon’s to keep everyone busy while Ricky Mackaway provide great Music throughout the day.

The Top 5 Cars as picked by the entrants were all of very high quality, Jason Cavanagh of ‘Classis Fabrications’ at Fernhill, picked up the Romans HRA Trophy with his 1936 Ford Coupe and John Dyer of Tomerong won the Geoff Keast Memorial Trophy with his blue 1932 Ford Coupe. The Street Rod Committee Trophy went to Kanahooka’s Chris Cassar with his blue 1932 Ford Roadster, Christine Power from Tomerong won the Shannons Trophy with her pink and cream 1954 Ford Customline and the ASRF Trophy was awarded to Jacko from Shellharbour area with his metallic grey F100 Pick Up.

The Romans HRA would like to thank the Kiama Mayor Cameron McDonald for presenting the Trophy’s and also Paul Beck of ‘Killer Rides’ for providing magazine’s and CD’s to the Top 5 winners along with their Trophy’s. Also a big thanks to the Local Kiama newspaper ‘The Bugle’ for their articles and promotion of the event and Shannon Insurance and the ASRF for their sponsorship of the event.

The Romans HRC will also be making a donation from the proceeds of the Kiama Rod Run to the Dr Sarah Cope Foundation. Sarah was a member of the Romans HRA and sadly passed away four years ago, shortly after receiving her Doctorate of Health Science from the University of Canberra where Sarah was an Assistant Professor of Nursing, her Foundation supports young Nurses with their training and studies at the University of Canberra.

The Romans HRA are looking forward to the 11th Kiama Rod Run on the weekend of 11th to 13th September 2026, further updates will be available as next year’s event is organised.

Yours in Hot Rodding                                     The Romans Kiama Organising Committee.
